How Does MagnetPaint Work?

The paint has iron dust built in. It does not contain lead, and is safe to use in home/school/offices. Once dried it enables magnets to adhere to the painted area. MagnetPaint can also be used as an undercoat, so you can paint over in any colour and keep the magnetic properties. This allows you to be even more creative!

You simply mix the paint well, paint your area and leave to dry.

How To Apply MagnetPaint

MagnetPaint is water-based and safe and easy to apply.

Surface preparation is crucial, the smoother the surface you apply the paint to, the better the end result you will get. Ensure that the surface is free of dust and grease, fill in any holes or imperfections, and ensure that the surface is non porous.

The paint is a one-component paint but does require a good mix before applying as the iron within the paint does sink to the bottom when the product is in storage.

Mix the paint well, paint your area and leave to dry.

How much MagnetPaint do I need?

Paint products are sold in tins. The coverage is expressed in metres squared. To work out the area you need to cover, you can use the calculation below:
Length of area x Width of area = Square area

You can then purchase the correct number of tins required to cover this square area.

For example, if your wall is 2.4m high x 3m wide

  • Square area = 7.2 Square metres
  • You would need 1 x 5 Litre tin, as each tin covers 10m²

    All products are dispatched with reliable couriers. Delivery take 2-3 working days and is charged at £9.95 + VAT per order. Orders over the value of £80 + VAT qualify for FREE Standard Delivery. This will be automatically applied at checkout.

    You have 14 days to change your mind about a product. Unused items can be returned for a full refund. Please notify our team via email within 14 days of receipt of the goods. MagnetPaint can only be returned if you are returning an unused, unopened tin. If it has been opened it cannot be returned as it is unfit for resale.

    Items that have been damaged in transit will be replaced or refunded as long as you have signed for the item as DAMAGED on receipt of goods (or refused the delivery) and taken photographs of both the packaging and the damage to the product, as per the rules of the couriers.

    MagnetPaint comes with a 10-year manufacturer's limited warranty for peace of mind. Ensure manufacturers' instructions are followed when installing and maintaining your Magnetic surface to protect your guarantee.

    FAQs

    • What colour is the paint available in?

      MagnetPaint is available in dark grey. The product is this colour due to the iron filings mixed throughout the paint to give the product it's magnetically receptive properties.

    • What equipment do I need to install the paint and how long does it take to dry?

      The product can be installed with both a long or short haired roller. 3 coats can be installed with a minimum drying time of 30 minutes in between coats (dependant on temperature and climate) Lightly sand the wall in between each coat.

      Once the final coat has been applied wait 12 hours before installing a top coat.
