Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the answers to the questions our customers most frequently ask. Please select the product from the list below. If you don't find your answer here please Contact Us with your query.

FlexiSheet

Q: What is FlexiSheet

A: FlexiSheet is a writable, magnetic whiteboard wallpaper that can be applied directly to a surface to make an instant magnetic whiteboard. FlexiSheet can be cut to fit exact sizes, joined together to make large whiteboards and installed on unusual surfaces such as curved walls or partition walls.

Q: How does this product stick to the wall?

A: The FlexiSheet is stuck using FlexiSheet Adhesive. If you are applying the product to a wall you can use the FlexiSheet Adhesive for Walls. This is a non contact adhesive supplied in a tub. If you are attaching the product to a substrate such as MDF we also offer adhesive in a spray can: FlexiSheet Adhesive for Substrates

Q: How much adhesive do I need?

A: Per 10m roll of Flexisheet you need either one tub or 4 spray cans (1 pack)

Q: How "Magnetic" is FlexiSheet?

A: FlexiSheet is actually magnetically receptive, rather than magnetic. This means that magnets stick to it. Manufactured with a high ferrous content, this ensures a strong magnetic pull, however, the stronger the magnets you use with FlexiSheet the better the magnetic pull will be. We recommend Neodydium magnets for optimum results.

Q: Can you chop my roll up for me to size?

A: FlexiSheet is very easy to cut to your required size with good quality scissors or a scalpel. We can Precut sizes if required, but there is a surcharge for this, and we have found it is normally better to cut onsite to allow for tolerance, so we normally advice against pre cut rolls.

Q: Can I have a sample of FlexiSheet

A: Absolutely! We offer a 1m x 1m sample on our website, however if you just need a small A4 one, please request one and we will post this out for you.

Q: Can FlexiSheet be temporarily installed?

A: FlexiSheet is designed for permanent installation. If you are looking for a temporary whiteboard we do have some products that may be more suitable.

Q: Can you use FlexiSheet on Glass?

A: FlexiSheet will stick to glass, however you have to bear in mind that you will see the adhesive on the reverse side - which will look a bit of a mess. We would recommend that you try FlexiStick instead. This will give you a better view from the back!

Q: What if my area is larger than a single piece of FlexiSheet?

A: FlexiSheet is designed so that you can add to the area in sections. For best results we recommend a buttress join, this is how our installers do it. Read More...

Q: I want a printed image on my magnetic writable wall

A: FlexiSheet has been tested for printing and we can offer bespoke prints on request. Please contact us for more information.

Q: Is FlexiSheet easy to install?

A: Yes, FlexiSheet can be easily cut to the required size with good quality scissors or a scalpel. If applying in single runs it's like applying any other commercial wall covering. For larger installations, FlexiSheet can be quite heavy and you may also need to join sections together. For best results ensure that the installation instructions are followed. Refer to our user guide and video.

Q: Can you offer professional installation?

A: Yes, we offer nationwide installation if you are not comfortably doing the installation yourself. Please contact us for more information

FlexiStick

Q: What is FlexiStick

A: FlexiStick is a self-adhesive, writable and magnetically receptive whiteboard wallpaper. The surface accepts dry erase marker pens, magnetic attachments and the self-adhesive nature means that it can be applied to the surface with minimum fuss.

Q: How "Magnetic" is FlexiStick?

A: FlexiSheet is actually magnetically receptive, rather than magnetic. This means that magnets stick to it. Manufactured with a high ferrous content, this ensures a strong magnetic pull, however, the stronger the magnets you use with FlexiSheet the better the magnetic pull will be. We recommend Neodydium magnets for optimum results.

Q: How does the self-adhesive work?

A: FlexiStick comes with a film on the reverse which simply peels back to reveal a sticky back. You can stick this straight onto the required surface.

Q: Can you join FlexiStick rolls together?

A: Because FlexiStick is self-adhesive, it's really designed to be applied in single runs. You can place multiple runs side by side, however for really good joins we would normally recommend FlexiSheet instead, as you can buttress join the strips together which looks much smarter.

Q: How big are the FlexiStick rolls?

A: FlexiStick is available in two roll lengths, 10m or 20m long. The roll width is 1.26m wide.

Q: Can I purchase a smaller amount of FlexiStick?

A: We only sell full rolls of this product, if you require a small area, please contact us so that we can help identify a more appropriate product for your needs.

Q: How do you cut FlexiStick to size?

A: FlexiStick is very easy to cut to your required size with good quality scissors or a scalpel.

FlexiProject

Q: What is FlexiProject

A: FlexiProject is a magnetically receptive, writable surface with a low-gloss finish so that it can also be used for projection as well as dry erase. You can write on with standard whiteboard markers and stick notes and memos to the surface with magnet attachments.

Q: How "Magnetic" is FlexiProject?

A: FlexiProject is actually magnetically receptive, rather than magnetic. This means that magnets stick to it. Manufactured with a high ferrous content, this ensures a strong magnetic pull, however, the stronger the magnets you use with FlexiSheet the better the magnetic pull will be. We recommend Neodydium magnets for optimum results.

Q: How does FlexiProject improve image quality?

A: Compared to a high gloss finish (as with FlexiStick and FlexiSheet) a low gloss surface is much better to project on. The low gloss reduces glare from the projector lamp, which in turn improves the image quality.

Q: Are the writing properties of FlexiProject the same as FlexiSheet or FlexiStick?

A: As with any low-gloss writing surface, the dry erase properties are compromised to produce a better projected image. The surface can be used for all functions, but we recommend more vigorous cleaning to prevent ghosting and staining over time with FlexiProject. If your primary purpose is a writing surface, we would recommend going for FlexiStick and looking at an ultra short throw projector option which would also eliminate glare. Please contact us for guidance and advice.

Q: How do you attach FlexiProject to the surface?

A: FlexiProject is a self-adhesive product, simply peel back and stick! No additional adhesive is required.

Q: Is FlexiProject easy to install?

A: Yes, FlexiProject can be easily cut to the required size with good quality scissors or a scalpel. Because it is self-adhesive it makes installation super easy. Refer to our user guide and video.

Q: Can you offer professional installation?

A: Yes, we offer nationwide installation if you are not comfortably doing the installation yourself. Please contact us for more information

MagnetPaint

Q: What is MagnetPaint?

A: MagnetPaint is a new and improved water-based emulsion paint that contains very fine ferrous powder; because of this the paint is dark grey in colour. The ferrous powder within the paint creates an area which you can stick magnets to; however this is a ferrous compound and is not as magnetically receptive as a steel surface.

Q: Is MagnetPaint available in any other colours?

A: Magnet Paint is only available in grey due to the ferrous powder contained within the paint. However, Magnet Paint can be over coated with any colour of emulsion, black board paint or our dry-wipe paint – Sketch Paint; allowing the area to blend in with your existing décor.

Q: Can I change the colour of MagnetPaint?

A: Magnet Paint should never be combined with another paint product. Adding another colour to Magnet Paint will dilute its magnetic receptivity.

Q: Does MagnetPaint have a smooth finish?

A: MagnetPaint has a slightly rough finish once dry due to the ferrous powder. Over coating Magnet paint with an emulsion, a blackboard paint or SketchPaint will allow for a smoother finish. Alternatively, MagnetPaint can be applied quite thickly and then smoothed off with a trowel before drying.

Q: How many tins of MagnetPaint do I need to purchase?

A: The 0.5 Litre Tin covers approximately 1m² with three coats. The 1.0 Litre Tin covers approximately 2m² with three coats. The 2.5 Litre Tin covers approximately 5m² with three coats. The 5.0 Litre Tin covers approximately 10m² with three coats.

Q: What wall preparation do I need to do before I can apply MagnetPaint?

A: Prepare your surface well; a clean, dust-free, solid, smooth area will give a better base for MagnetPaint. If the MagnetPaint is to be applied onto an untreated surface, such as wood, we recommend that you apply a primer or base coat first. MagnetPaint comes ready to use. Mix the paint thoroughly with a stirring stick before you begin to apply. For full instructions please refer to our user guides and video.

Q: How should MagnetPaint be applied?

A: Magnet Paint is best applied with a sponge roller which can be cleaned with soap and water after use. We recommend a minimum of three coats; adding more coats will increase the magnetic receptivity.

Q: What type of magnets should I use with MagnetPaint?

A: Lightweight magnets or large surface area magnets are recommended for use with Magnet Paint. Neodymium type magnets are advised for extra strong magnetism.

Q: Is MagnetPaint safe to use?

A: Magnet Paint is a water-based, lead free, 100% acrylic latex coating. It conforms to environmental EC and VOC regulations. Magnet Paint produces low odour and allows for easy application and clean up. As the paint itself is not a magnet, but rather has magnetic properties (ferrous powder), it is safe to use in your home, school or office and will not affect your computer, TV, video or any other magnet-sensitive equipment.

Blackboard Paint

Q: What is Blackboard paint?

Q: What colour is Blackboard Paint?

A: We offer the product in a choice of colour options. Black for a traditional chalk board effect, or one of the bright colours will give you a colourful writable wall.

Q: Is Blackboard Paint Safe?

A: Yes. Blackboard Paint w which has been rigorously tested, easy to use, easy to apply and completely safe. Non-toxic and is VOC and lead free.

Q: How much Blackboard Paint do I need?

A: Usually requires just one coat, but may require two depending on existing surface colour, texture and method of application.

Q: How do you prepare the surface for Blackboard Paint?

A: The area to be painted must be clean, dust free, dry, smooth and free of grease and detergents. Uneven layers of paint or peeling areas of paint must before removed. Sand over the surface with sand paper to give the smoothest finish possible. If you are painting over a glossed or semi-glossed surface, you must scuff the area with sandpaper to ensure the Blackboard Paint has something to adhere to. Following sanding, the surface must be cleaned to remove dust. To clean the surface, simply use a clean cloth which is damp with water only to wipe over the area. Allow to dry thoroughly. If you are painting a full wall you must mask off the ceiling where it meets the wall, adjoining walls and skirting boards or the floor as you will need to roller to the very edges. If only painting a portion of the wall, apply a masking tape border to the area prior to painting which will give a clean edge.

Q: Do I need to prime the surface before applying the Blackboard Paint?

A: Irregular or highly absorbent surfaces will require a suitable primer to be applied before the Blackboard Paint coat can be added. This applies to potential surfaces such as glass, wood, stone, metal, plastic, melamine and concrete. Blackboard Paint should never be applied directly onto surfaces such as these as it will not adhere leaving a very poor finish.

Q: What equipment should I use to apply Blackboard Paint?

A: The paint is best applied with a short haired nap roller for a smoother surface. Remove loose hairs from the roller prior to use by rinsing it under fresh running water. Paint Brushes should not be used with Blackboard Paint.

Q: How do you apply Blackboard Paint?

A: Please follow the instructions carefully. Please refer to the user guide and videos for more information.

  1. Open the Blackboard Paint and mix thoroughly for around three minutes until the pigment is evenly mixed throughout the paint. NEVER MIX THIS PAINT WITH ANOTHER PAINT.
  2. Coat your roller well with Blackboard Paint and roll over the area in straight lines giving an even coat. Avoid overlapping the paint as much as is possible. Roller up to the very edge of the area you want to cover.
  3. Coverage must always be maintained at up to 5m² per 0.5L tin with one coat.
  4. If painting Blackboard Paint over a light coloured surface, more than one coat may be necessary.
  5. Please allow 4 hours of drying time in between coat. Masking Tape must be removed following the application of the final coat.
  6. Please allow 24 hours to dry before using chalk on the Blackboard Paint.

Q: How do I clean my equipment after use?

A: Rollers and trays can be cleaned using warm, soapy water following use. For best results, soak in warm soapy water as soon as you have finished using them before the paint starts to dry. If you get Blackboard Paint on your skin, simply wash off with soap and water.

Q: What if I want a magnetic and writable surface?

A: Blackboard Paint can be used in conjunction with MagnetPaint to create a true magnetic chalk board.

Q: How do I look after my Blackboard surface?

A: Only use good quality chalks that contain no oils or wax with Blackboard Paint. Blackboard Paint can be primed before use if necessary; simply lay a piece of chalk on its side and cover the area in a thin coat of chalk. Then rub away using a clean dry cloth. To clean your Blackboard Paint, simply use a clean cloth which is damp with water only to wipe over the area. Allow to dry thoroughly. Never use chemicals or abrasive detergents to clean the Blackboard Paint.

Q: Can you use Blackboard paint outside?
