What is Bluescreen Paint For?
When it comes to greenscreens and bluescreens, both backgrounds are used for the same purpose: to use Chroma Key technology in order to place the subjects in front of the projected background. The main difference with using a bluescreen rather than a greenscreen is that Bluescreens have a lower luminosity as compared to green screens. This means they are better suited to low-light shoots, but also makes them trickier to light. If you want the bluescreen to key properly with the least amount of adjustments necessary you'll need to set your camera to a higher f-stop than you would were you using a green screen. This also means it is more difficult to shoot a large scene on bluescreen as opposed to green.
Whether you are a Vlogger working from your home, a business owner looking to create instructional videos, or an educational setting creating movies and videos, Bluescreen technique allows you to shoot your footage in one location and transform the backdrop later using video editing techniques. If you are searching for a beautiful or unique setting by filming a character or object in front of the green wall you can add any desired background later with Chroma Key technique.
Create your own music videos or movies, business messages or instruction videos.
Bluescreen paint is environmentally friendly and safe to apply indoors. Ready to use and quick and easy to apply with a short-haired roller.
You can magically transport your footage to anywhere you like without having to leave your desk!
How Does Bluescreen Paint Work?
Bluescreen Paint is a premium water-based matt blue wall paint that turns walls and objects into a Bluescreen. Easy to use and apply Bluescreen paint can be painted onto a wall or surface to create the perfect backdrop for filmmaking. Suitable for editing video recordings with Chroma Key technique, you can transform your footage from the comfort of your own home.
By filming a character or object in front of the green wall, you can add any desired background later using the Chromakey technique. Make sure the subject in front of your Bluescreen background is not green or that persons are not wearing blue clothing. In addition, the lighting needs to be set accordingly.
There can be no shadows on the background. That is why an object often has to be at least three meters away from the screen, and you also need lighting from the rear. Take into account that fluttering hairs often cause problems; they are too thin to be perceived by the computer, which may cause the hairs to disappear.
Use a video editing programme – such as Adobe Premiere Pro, iMovie, Magix Video Deluxe, Pinnacle Studio Plus, Sony Vegas, etc. - to add any desired background to your video.

Tin Size | Coverage |
0.5 Litre | 5m² |
1.0 Litre | 10m² |
Paint products are sold in tins. The coverage is expressed in metres squared. To work out the area you need to cover, you can use the calculation below:
Length of area x Width of area = Square area
You can then purchase the correct number of tins required to cover this square area.
For example, if your wall is 2.4m high x 4m wide
