Sketchy Backdrops

If you are lucky enough to work in a beautiful building and don't want to paint straight onto the walls - no problem. This is a great solution to still achieve full height writable walls without covering brickwork or other original features.

Whiteboards are essential in an office because they facilitate communication, collaboration, and organisation, making them a valuable tool for productivity and creativity in the workplace:

  1. Visual Communication: Whiteboards provide a space for visual communication, allowing individuals or teams to illustrate ideas, concepts, and plans. This visual representation can often be more effective than verbal or written communication alone.
  2. Collaboration: Whiteboards encourage collaboration among team members. They serve as a canvas for brainstorming sessions, project planning, and problem-solving activities where multiple people can contribute and interact in real-time.
  3. Flexibility: Whiteboards are versatile and can be used for various purposes. They can be used for sketching diagrams, creating charts, jotting down notes, and even displaying project timelines or schedules.
  4. Quick Edits and Changes: Unlike permanent markers on paper or traditional chalkboards, whiteboards allow for easy erasing and editing. This is particularly useful in dynamic work environments where ideas evolve rapidly.
  5. Visual Memory Aid: Information displayed on a whiteboard is often more memorable than information presented verbally or in text form. It serves as a visual memory aid that can help individuals recall key points and details.
  6. Time Management: Whiteboards can be used to create to-do lists, set priorities, and track progress on tasks. This can help employees stay organized and manage their time more effectively.
  7. Cost-Effective: Whiteboards are a cost-effective tool compared to other presentation technologies like projectors and interactive screens. They require minimal maintenance and can last a long time with proper care.
  8. Aesthetic Appeal: Whiteboards, when properly maintained, contribute to the aesthetics of an office space. They can be integrated into the overall design and layout of the workspace, making it more visually appealing.

Whiteboard Paint means you can still benefit from all the features of an office whiteboard even when you can't put anything directly onto the wall.

Get The Look

  1. Start by cutting as piece of wood such as MDF to the required size.
  2. You then need to seal the wood so that the whiteboard paint does not soak into the wood when you apply it to the surface. A water based white primer for wood will be perfect.
  3. Next apply the whiteboard paint to the surface. Whiteboard paint is provided as a two-part formula. Once you mix the components together you have one hour to apply the paint to the wall before it begins to cure. For best results make sure you have everything ready before mixing the components together.
  4. Mix the two parts and stir well
  5. Once fully combined you can apply the whiteboard paint to the surface with a roller in even strokes.
  6. Allow the surface to cure for 5 days - this is a very important step to optimise the surface for long lasting use.
  7. After the surface is cured you can write on / wipe off with good quality dry erase whiteboard pens!
